My water reservoir seems to be overflowing

Are you seeing water leaking from the Chill reservoir, even though you don't see a 'tank full' notification in the app, and the Chill hasn't automatically turned off? In specific situations, problems can arise with condensation drainage.

In very warm weather and high humidity, condensation can remain on the lid of the water tank, leading to overflow even if the reservoir itself is not yet full. This is also why you don't see a notification on the Chill or in the app.

To prevent this, you can remove the condensation drain hose. This is a simple procedure that ensures condensation water always goes directly into the water reservoir. You do not need any tools for this.

Does this affect the functioning of the Chill?

No. Removing the drain hose does not affect the cooling capacity or the operation of the system. The hose's function is solely to dampen the sound of falling drops, particularly immediately after the device is turned off. In practice, this sound is barely audible. New Chill installations are installed without a drain hose.

Here's how to make the adjustment (watch instructional video):

  1. Remove the water reservoir from the Chill

  2. Remove the lid from the reservoir by gently unclicking it

  3. Remove the hose attached to the lid by pulling on the hose

  4. Click the lid back onto the reservoir

  5. (Optional) fill the tank with 4.7L of water and place it back into the Chill to check that the Chill indicates the tank is full and does not turn on until the tank has been emptied again.
